What we believe
We believe that the Bible, both the Old Testament and the New Testament, is the inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and life. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God sent to redeem the world; we love and trust Him as the one who saves us from our sin; and with repentance and joy we embrace Him as Lord of our life.
We are a confessional church, holding to the Ecumenical Creeds: the Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed and Athanasian Creed, and adhere to the three standards of faith: The Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort.
What is our only comfort in life and death?
That we are not our own, but belong -- body and soul, in life and in death -- to our faithful Saviour Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all our sins with His precious blood, and has set us free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over us in such a way that not a hair can fall from our head without the will of our Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for our salvation. Because we belong to Him, Christ, by His Holy Spirit, assures us of eternal life and makes us wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for Him.
